U.K. CHARTS: A 2ND DOUBLE FOR HARRY

Harry Styles has scored his second U.K. chart double with Harry’s House (Columbia) and “As It Was,” while Post Malone has the week’s highest new entry at albums.

Styles is the first artist to score a second week at the top of the Official Albums Chart in 2022, which has seen a remarkably high turnover at #1: 21 different albums have topped the chart in this year’s 23 weeks. The record for most unique #1s—43—was set in 2020.

Malone’s Twelve Carat Toothache (Island) debuts at #3. It's Posty's third U.K. Top 5 LP. He also has three singles in the Top 40: “Cooped Up” f/Roddy Ricch at #18, “I Like You (A Happier Song)” f/Doja Cat at #19 and “Lemon Tree” at #40.

Michael Head & the Red Elastic Band crack the Top 10 for the first time, with Dear Scott (Modern Sky) at #6. It’s #2 on the week’s Vinyl Albums Chart.

Albums from earlier eras see dramatic spikes this week. ABBA’s Gold: Greatest Hits (Polydor) is up two to #7 following the opening of ABBA Voyage in London; Queen’s Greatest Hits (Parlophone) is #8 as the band heads out on tour; Oasis’ hits collection Time Flies… 1994-2009 (Big Brother) is up to #14 and Kate Bush’s The Whole Story (EMI) vaults 57 places to #19 thanks to the viral success of “Running Up That Hill.” Prince & the Revolution: Live (Sony CMG), a 1985 concert recorded in Syracuse, N.Y., enters at #21.

Angel Olsen’s Big Time (Jagjaguwar), debuting at #24, is her third U.K. Top 40 hit to date.

At singles, Bush’s “Running Up That Hill” (Fish People) runs six slots up the chart to #2 to land right behind “As It Was,” now in its 10th week at #1. It’s a new peak for the song, which rose to #3 in the U.K. when it was released in 1985.

Sam Ryder’s SPACE MAN” (Parlophone) rises to #3 following his performance at last weekend’s "Platinum Party at the Palace." Another "Platinum Party at the Palace" performer, George Ezra, enjoys a boost this week as “Green Green Grass” (Columbia) achieves a new apex of #9.

LF System’s “Afraid to Feel” (Warner) is the week’s highest climber, vaulting an incredible 56 places to #13 courtesy of TikTok.
