Sean “Diddy” Combs has aligned with Motown Records to create a new R&B label, Love Records, and signed a deal with the label to make his return as a recording artist.
Combs’ album, which will come out this summer, will be the imprint’s inaugural project. His last album was 2006’s Press Play.
“This is a major moment for Motown as Diddy is one of this century’s most important voices in music and culture,” said CEO/Chairwoman Ethiopia Habtemariam. “To be a part of his next evolution and album is nothing short of monumental.”
Aside from handling A&R for his forthcoming album and serving as its executive producer, Combs will continue to oversee his Bad Boy Entertainment label.
