WCM HIRES LEGAL CHIEF

Warner Chappell Music (WCM) has tapped Peter Rosenthal for the newly created role of Executive Vice President, Global Head of Legal and Business Affairs, reporting to WCM co-chairs Guy Moot and Carianne Marshall.

In addition to company-wide legal and financial oversight, Rosenthal will liaise with performing-rights organizations and other industry groups and advise on legislation impacting music publishing.

“As we continue to prioritize our presence around the world and expand into emerging markets, we need a unified legal strategy," said Marshall and Moot in a join statement. “Peter’s guidance and growth mindset will be critical to helping us serve and protect our songwriters.”

Rosenthal joins Warner Chappell from Downtown Music Holdings, where he served as general counsel. Prior to joining Downtown in 2018, Rosenthal was a Partner at Ritholz Levy Fields LLP, a law firm specializing in entertainment, media and technology.
