BALDWIN KEYS IN ON UMPG COMPOSERS

Universal Music Publishing Group has promoted Natasha Baldwin to the newly created role of EVP, Classics and Screen. Based in London, she succeeds Jim Kendrick.

In her new role, in which she will report to UMPG Chairman and CEO Jody Gerson and COO Marc Cimino, Baldwin will be responsible for leading the publisher's global classical- and screen-composer businesses. She was most recently EVP, Decca Publishing, Global Classics & Jazz.

“Natasha is a dynamic executive who has been a great partner to UMPG over the last five years,” Cimino said. “Her leadership, experience and global sensibility fit right in with our company culture.”

Kendrick, who is retiring after leading UMPG Classical for 10 years, will continue to work with the company's global teams.

The Classics and Screen division is home to catalogs including Ricordi, Durand/Salabert-Eschig and EMB. Baldwin will also be overseeing UMPG’s roster of screen composers, who include Danny Elfman, Alexandre Desplat, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Gustavo Santaolalla.

Additionally, the UMPG Classics division will include Decca Publishing—which Baldwin launched from Universal Music U.K. in 2016—and an expanded portfolio of catalogs within UMPG specializing in classical, post-classical, electronic and score composers.
