ABBA BREAKS UMG U.K. PRE-ORDER RECORD

ABBA has broken the record for pre-orders for a Universal Music U.K. artist with more than 80k in just three days for their upcoming comeback album, Voyage (Polydor/UMG).

Announced Thursday with an 11/5 release date, Voyage has surpassed the previous pre-order record set by Take That for their Progress and III albums. Two singles from Voyage, “I Still Have Faith In You” and “Don’t Shut Me Down,” are in the U.K.’s Official Singles Top 10 midweeks at #6 and #7, respectively.

Capitol is handling the album in the U.S.

Tickets go on sale for the ABBA Voyage tour today (9/7), a new concert directed by Baillie Walsh that will see the band performing digitally with a live 10-piece band in the purpose-built ABBA Arena at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London beginning 5/27.
