The posthumous DMX album, Exodus (Def Jam), featuring guests such as Jay-Z, Swizz Beatz and Snoop Dogg, takes the top slot at iTunes the Flipover Friday of Memorial Day weekend.
The late rapper’s eighth album is also the top new arrival at Apple Music, opening at #15 early Friday morning.
The normally staid holiday weekend has one surprise: a remix from Eminem. The Shady/Aftermath/Interscope rapper’s “Killer (Remix),” with Jack Harlow & Cordae, is the top new arrival at iTunes songs. It’s #10.
Following DMX, the rookies at iTunes albums are led by
Blackberry Smoke’s You Hear Georgia (3 Legged/ThirtyTigers) at #2 and Indie Tribe’s self-released Upperhand at #4.
Moby’s orchestral versions of older songs, Reprise (Little Idiot/Deutsche Grammophon) is #8; Brynn Cartelli’s EP, Based on a True Story (Elektra), is #9.
