ADVOCACY ORG ADDS TO ADVISORY BOARD

We Are Moving the Needle, the women-in-music advocacy group founded by Grammy-winning mastering engineer Emily Lazar, has announced several additions to its advisory board.

Joining the cause are Brittany Howard, Vanessa Carlton, Christina Perri, Imogen Heap, and Merrill Garbus (Tune-Yards). Lazar and Co. are working to educate, equip, energize and employ more women in producing and engineering roles.

“Providing opportunities for women in the producing and engineering field is very important to me,” Howard states. “I produced my recent solo album, have built my own home studio and really feel it is important to be able to see others do what you want to do, to build a community of people trying to accomplish the same goals and to pave roads to educate and encourage other women in this field.”

And yes dudes, it’s time to step up and become an ally.
