Details for the Shuttered Venue Operators Grant program of the Small Business Administration have been released in a collection of FAQs. Here’s what we learned.
Among those who qualify, provided their meet certain requirements, are concert venues and promoters; talent agencies; state, county and municipal government-owned Performing Arts Centers; and certain theatrical producers.
Among those who do not qualify are free music festivals, ticket brokers ad most sports arenas and stadiums. Air shows are out of luck too.
Most SVOGs of less than $1m will be disbursed in one or two installments. Among the ways funds may be used are to pay artists’ guarantees, refund ticketholders for canceled shows, and reimburse venue owners who dipped into their own pockets to keep the lights on.
More details on the program set up through the Save Our Stages Act are here.
