NEW YORK HAS AN APP FOR HEALTHY TICKET HOLDERS

Vaccinated and you want to prove it to get into a show or a game in New York? There’s an app for that.

New York has begun using the Excelsior Pass app to share vaccination and negative COVID-19 test results with entertainment and sports venues. The app was use at a Brooklyn Nets game last month and a New York Rangers game a few weeks ago.

The app is the first of its kind to be used in the U.S. and Madison Square Garden and the Times Union Center in Albany are already using it. Smaller arts, entertainment and event venues will begin using it on Friday, 4/2.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo said, “As more New Yorkers get vaccinated each day and as key public health metrics continue to regularly reach their lowest rates in months, the first-in-the-nation Excelsior Pass heralds the next step in our thoughtful, science-based reopening."
