U.K. MIDWEEKS: DEL REY FLYING HIGH

Lana Del Rey is set to score her fifth U.K. Official Albums #1 on Friday with Chemtrails Over the Country Club (Polydor). On the singles chart, Justin Bieber’s “Peaches” (EMI) could be this week’s highest new entry.

At the halfway point, Chemtrails Over the Country Club is beating the rest of the Top 10 combined, with 34,000 in sales. The set has already surpassed the entire first-week sales of Rey’s previous three albums, making it her strongest start to a campaign since 2014.

Justin Bieber’s JUSTICE (EMI) was the most-streamed album last weekend; it starts at #2. Bob Dylan’s boxed set 1970 (Columbia) is new at #3, and Sting’s collaborative album, Duets (UMG), is #4.

Brighton rock band Black Honey is likely to score its first Top 10 album as Written & Directed (Foxfive) is #7; heavy-metal outfit Saxon starts at #11 with Inspirations (Silver Lining Music).

On the U.K.’s Official Singles midweeks, Nathan Evans f/220 Kid and Billen Ted’s “Wellerman” (Polydor) is on course for a second week at #1.

“Friday” (Ministry of Sound) by Riton x Nightcrawlers f/Mufasa & Hypeman is up three places midweek to #2, while fellow party tune “BED” (Atlantic), by Joel Corry, RAYE and David Guetta, rises three spots to #5.

Bieber f/Daniel Caesar and GIVĒON’s “Peaches,” the most-streamed new release of the week so far, starts at #7. And after claiming his first #1 album on Friday, Tom Grennan sees “Little Bit of Love” (Relentless) poised to crack the Top 10; it's currently at #10.
