U.K. CHARTS: KINGS CLAIM THRONE

Kings of Leon have scored their sixth #1 on the U.K.’s Official Albums Chart with When You See Yourself (RCA) while Olivia Rodrigo’s “drivers license” (Polydor) becomes the longest-running #1 debut single in the U.K. in 15 years.

When You See Yourself was the most purchased album of the week on CD, downloads and vinyl, and 65% of its week one chart sales total came from physical formats.

Gabrielle’s Do It Again (BMG) lands at #4, while Zara Larsson’s Poster Girl (Epic) is new at #12. Japan enter at #13 with a re-release of ‘80s set Quiet Life (BMG), and Arab Strap’s As Days Get Dark (Rock Action) debuts at #14.

Other Top 20 debuts are DMA’s Live At Brixton (Infectious Music) at #17 and Mason Hill’s Against The Wall (7Hz Productions) at #19.

On the U.K.’s Official Singles Chart, “drivers license” is now the U.K.’s longest-running #1 debut single since 2006, when Gnarls Barkley’s “Crazy” (Warner) spent nine weeks at #1.

Rodrigo saw fierce competition from “Wellerman” (Polydor) by Nathan Evans with 220 Kid and Billen Ted, which finishes just 742 sales behind at #2.

Tiesto’s “The Business” (Atlantic) climbs one place to #3, while Drake has new three entries in the Top 10 from Scary Hours II. “What’s Next” (Island) charts at #4 today, followed by “Lemon Pepper Freestyle” f/Rick Ross at #6 and “Wants and Needs” f/Lil Baby at #10.
