A VERY VIRTUAL EXPERIENCE WITH COLUMBIA

Inside Columbia’s virtual offices, the label hosted its Columbia Records Experience Vol. 1 today (2/10). The interactive showcase was a one-of-a-kind event with performances from Cannons, Elaine, Jack Kays and Q built into a CGI world and streamed via Maestro.

Indie-electro act Cannons kicked off the show with a lunar-esque performance of “Fire For You,” which recently hit #1 on the Alt radio chart. With each band member in their own cube, they followed up with “Bad Dream” for their out-of-this-world performance.

From outer space visuals to the ocean, Cannons were followed by 21-year-old newcomer Elaine. With just herself and a keyboard player on an island, she started with the ever-somber “Risky” before finishing up the set with her breakout single, “You’re The One.” No sunblock was requried for this beach trip.

Fresh off the release of his debut album, MIXED EMOTIONS, Kays hit the virtual forest with his singles “MORBID MIND” and “BARELY ALIVE” surrounded by a comforting campfire that felt all-too real.

Wrapping up the showcase, Q brought back the beach vibes with a night show on a virtual boardwalk. With his powerful falsetto and a full band behind him, he performed “My Dear Electra” before closing out the virtual experience with “Take Me Where Your Heart Is.”
