Billie Eilish and Foo Fighters lent new performances to the fourth annual iHeartRadio ALTer EGO Presented by Capital One on 1/28, which was otherwise loaded with clips from previous ALTer EGO outings.
Foo Fighters opened the night with “Everlong” before diving into “Shame Shame,” “Waiting on a War” and “The Pretender,” the latter concluding with a long jam session.
Eilish closed out the virtual event, performing “Therefore I Am,” “Everything I Wanted” and “My Future” with her brother Finneas.
The "vintage" material included The Black Keys’ “Howlin’ for You” from last year, Weezer’s 2019 performance of “Buddy Holly,” Beck’s rendition of “Loser” at the 2018 show and Coldplay’s performance of “Viva La Vida” with a full orchestra in 2020. The Killers, blink-182, Muse and Mumford & Sons were also part of the walk down memory lane.
