RIAA ISSUES STATEMENT ON INSURRECTION

It feels surreal to type this, but the RIAA has issued a statement in response to a pro-Trump mob's ransacking the U.S. Capitol. Spoiler alert: They're agin it.

The statement reads as follows:

RIAA condemns last week’s attack on the U.S. Capitol. We support candidates who respect both the rule of law and the results of free and fair elections. In light of the events of January 6, we have reviewed the criteria for our political giving and are not contributing to those who voted against the peaceful transition of power.

The org's proclamation echoes messages from numerous corporations and other entities decrying the domestic terrorist attack and pledging to withhold funds from its enablers. Meanwhile, as we reported earlier, Cumulus has cracked down on conservative radio hosts and forbidden those in its stable from spreading the "rigged election" lie that lit this powder keg. Stay tuned for much, much more drama.
