DEWAYNE GOES DOWNTOWN

Downtown Music Holdings has appointed Dewayne Ector to the newly created position of Chief Revenue Officer.

In his new role, Ector will oversee the negotiation and maximization of revenue from digital licenses covering all rights types represented across Downtown’s business units. He'll report to Downtown’s Chief Commercial Officer, Tracy Maddux and will continue to be based in London.

The appointment follows his tenure leading Downtown-owned subsidiary Songtrust as Global Head of Partner Relations and Income Tracking.

“Dewayne’s knowledge and command of the complicated global royalties landscape and his commitment to both clients and colleagues make him ideal for this important role," shared Downtown CEO Justin Kalifowitz.

During Ector’s time at Songtrust, the company expanded its direct affiliations to 60 different collection societies and rights organizations covering royalty collections in 216 different countries, roughly 90% of the globe, as well as increased royalty payments to clients.

Prior to joining Songtrust in early 2019, Ector served as Head of International for AMRA and spent eight years with PRS for Music in the U.K. With over 20 years of experience in the music industry, Ector began his career working as a producer and studio engineer. In the latter capacity he will be helping Kalifowitz record Downtown's sprightly new jingle.
