UMG EXTENDS A DISTRIB DEAL

Under a new deal, Universal Music Group will continue to distribute the legendary jazz labels Fantasy, Prestige and Savoy, the ‘60s soul powerhouse Stax and roots-music specialists Rounder.

UMG and Concord have renewed their global distribution agreement from its frontline labels, which includes Fearless and Loma Vista, as well as catalog projects. UMG has distributed Concord for 15 years.

“Our partnership with Concord is built on a foundation of shared values,” said UMG Chairman and CEO Sir Lucian Grainge. “We both put artists and creativity at the center of everything we do. I couldn’t be happier to extend our partnership.”

Recent successful frontline releases have come from Tanya Tucker, The War and Treaty and James Taylor.
