CAPITOL U.K. UPS TOM PAUL TO GM

Marketing exec Tom Paul has been promoted to GM at Capitol Records U.K. Over the last nine years, he's played a pivotal role in the success of artists including Sam Smith, 5 Seconds of Summer and Liam Payne.

Having helped launch Capitol U.K. in 2011, Paul has worked with artists who've collectively sold more than 40m albums worldwide. He's also played a key role in the introduction of Capitol’s roster of emerging talent, which includes Mae Muller and new signing Zoe Wees.

“We have worked with Tom for over 12 years and in that time he has been an exemplary marketing executive,” Jo Charrington, Co-President of Capitol Records U.K., said. “He is well loved not only by us but by our managers and artists too. He has proven himself to be more than ready for this GM role, and we are thrilled to work with him in what promises to be an exciting 2021 for Capitol and its expanding roster.”

Paul started his career as a marketing assistant at Sony’s Epic Records in 2008, then worked his way up to Senior Product Manager, in which capacity he helped develop and break artists including JLS, Olly Murs, Paloma Faith and Aloe Blacc. Paul Left Sony in 2011, becoming Marketing Manager at London Records before joining Capitol.
