GRAMMY MUSEUM CELEBRATES MOTOWN

Motown artists will be taking over the Grammy Museum’s online Saturday programs during a month that will see a celebration of Broadway’s Jagged Little Pill, Charlie Parker’s centennial and the 50th Anniversary of Asleep at the Wheel.

The Spotlight Saturdays Series Takeover by Motown Records starts 12/5 with Joy Denalane and continues with Chaz French (12/12), Asiahn (12/19) and NJOMZA (12/26). The history of Motown is expected to be the theme of the museum's first exhibit after reopening.

Alanis Morissette, Diablo Cody, Tom Kitt and the original Jagged Little Pill Broadway cast are part of the 12/3 program, which also includes sessions with hardcore band Touché Amoré, writer Peter Guralnick and the Parker celebration with Dave Chisholm, Chuck Haddix, Bobby Watson and Christian McBride.

Chris Hillman will do a livestream event on 12/9.

Appearing on 12/17 will be Asleep at the Wheel featuring Ray Benson, Andrew Bird, Bettye LaVette with producer Steve Jordan, MisterWives and G.E. Smith.
