TUNE IN: 2020 ROCK HALL INDUCTION

Even the most devoted followers of MSNBC’s “Boyfriend to the World" Steve Kornacki need an occasional distraction, so tune in on Saturday, 11/7, at 8 PM ET/PT on HBO/HBO Max for the premier of the 2020 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction broadcast. After a six-year break, Joel Gallen is back as Executive Producer and Director of the program. This year's inductees are: Depeche Mode, The Doobie Brothers, Whitney Houston, Nine Inch Nails, The Notorious B.I.G. and T. Rex, with honorees Irving Azoff and Jon Landau.

The festivities were originally scheduled to take place in Cleveland in May, then rescheduled to be the first-ever live induction on 11/7. The pandemic dictated the shift to a documentary-style approach, however, making use of historical footage and featuring appearances and testimonials from some of entertainment’s biggest names. Said Joel, “These are 10-12-minute films about each inductee’s career, focusing on the music, and you will see footage of everybody at the height of their greatness, which we follow with brief acceptance speeches from the artist or, in the case of Whitney Houston, T. Rex and Notorious B.I.G., members of their families. If you’re a fan of music, you’ll love this show.”

We should be on our fifth bottle of champagne by the time the show starts.
