PATTI SMITH'S "POWER" SURGE

Rock icon Patti Smith offered an election-day rendition of her anthem "People Have the Power" for New Yorkers on 11/3, performing the song on Sixth Avenue (perhaps a city block or so from the spot where Trump said he could shoot someone with impunity) with longtime accompanist Lenny Kaye.

How much power do the people have? We'll find out in a matter of hours—or perhaps days—but we still think it's a lot.
