VINE LANDS CALVIN HARRIS’ CATALOG

Vine Alternative Investments (Vine) has acquired the song catalog of Grammy-winning and multiplatinum-selling producer/songwriter/DJ Calvin Harris.

Sony/ATV will continue administration services for the catalog of more than 150 compositions, which includes chart-toppers and collaborations with artists like Rihanna, Dua Lipa, Sam Smith, Ariana Grande, Travis Scott and more.

“We valued [Vine’s] quick response time, exceptional knowledge of the space and straightforward approach. We are very comfortable that they will be great stewards of the catalog,” said Mark Gillespie, Harris’ Manager and CEO of Three Six Zero.

“The addition of Calvin Harris hits across multiple genres to our catalogs is a continuation of our pursuit of building a multi-genre media ecosystem that not only respects, but honors the artists we work with,” added Rob Amir, Vine’s partner in charge of music-sector investments.

Throughout his career, Harris has garnered 30b global streams and multiple awards and nominations, including 17 Brit Award noms (2 wins in 2019), 14 MTV VMA noms (4 wins), 5 Grammy noms and an Ivor Novello Award.

The deal follows Vine’s acquisition of Sean Douglas’ catalog earlier this month as Vine moves into the music space. Vine is the controlling shareholder of both Village Roadshow Entertainment Group and EuropaCorp SA.

Calvin Harris was advised by Laurie Soriano at King, Holmes, Paterno & Soriano, Thomas St. John at Thomas St. John and Mark Gillespie at Three Six Zero. Vine was advised by Michael Poster at Michelman & Robinson and Danny Strick at Chase the Dragon.
