O2 BOOKS A GIG

London’s O2 Arena will reopen for the first time in eight months with Squeeze playing its first socially distanced gig on 12/5. The venue’s capacity will be reduced to 4,700 from 20,000.

Tickets for the AEG-promoted event will be sold in groups of twos, threes and fours and the seating configuration will be in line with the U.K. Government’s one meter+ guidelines.

All ticketing will be via The O2 venue app, which also allows pre-ordering of food, drink and merch to reduce queuing with fast collection lanes. Face coverings will be mandatory and the show will end at 10pm.

"At the moment, we’re only able to host under a quarter of our capacity in the arena, so this is not a long term solution for us or other venues and we continue to press the government for targeted support and guidance to get the live events industry and its supply chain back on its feet,” O2 GM and VP Steve Sayer said.
