UNIVERSAL ISRAEL NAMES A&R CHIEF

Universal Music Israel has made its first major staff hire since opening a standalone Israel office earlier this year, tapping Meytal Shevach to lead its A&R efforts.

A journalist and radio host, Shevach will lead UMI’s efforts in the signing and development of new domestic Israeli musical talent as A&R Manager. Based in Tel Aviv, she reports to Yoram Mokady, Managing Director, Universal Music Israel.

Shevach was most recently content and artist marketing manager at Deezer; she’s also a podcast and radio host at Radio Tel Aviv. Earlier in her career, Shevach helped launch MTV Israel and served as its first music editor. She was musical adviser to TV shows such as The Interns, Married at First Sight and X- Factor Israel.

“Her vast experience working within the local artist and music community, will help us to identify and develop the next wave of Israeli talent, as we look towards introducing our artists to new audiences around the world, whilst reaching new fans and achieving success domestically,” Mokady said.
