DIAMONDS ARE A ZOOM'S BEST FRIEND

A starry assemblage of artists and biz folk converged on a Zoom call recently to bestow a Diamond Award on "Meant to Be" by Bebe Rexha f/Florida Georgia Line. Diamond certifications are conspicuously rare nowadays ("Meant" is one of only six singles so decorated in the last four years), which is why Warner's Tom Corson wore his emerald-encrusted house slippers for the occasion. For Rexha, the excitement of the shiny plaque was augmented by the prospect of dropping her brand-new single next week, the opening salvo from her forthcoming album. Seen looking about as glamorous as they're likely to this week are (top row) Big Machine Label Group's Jimmy Harnen, RIAA chief Mitch Glazier and COO Michele Ballantyne and FGL's Brian Kelley; (middle row) FGL's Tyler Hubbard, Warner Co-Chairman/CEO Aaron Bay-Schuck, Co-Chairman/COO Corson, BMLG boss Scott Borchetta; (bottom row) Bebe Management's Dina Sahim, Rexha, manager Wassim "Sal" Slaiby and Full Stop Management's Jeffrey Azoff.
