TikTok and TuneCore have teamed up for a global Freemium promotion to allow artists to upload their music for free.
Running from 9/22-9/29, artists can upload one song onto TuneCore’s platform to be made available on TikTok.
The promotion arrives after TuneCore’s parent Believe signed a multi-year partnership with the app earlier this year allowing Believe and TuneCore artists to benefit from more market coverage as well a optimized revenue opportunists.
Since launching its distro to TikTok late last year, 320k+ TuneCore artists have distributed 333k+ releases including artists like Mr. 2 – 17, SALES and The Dice Beat, who have seen over 1.5m in activity on the platform.
“TuneCore’s independent spirit aligns perfectly with TikTok’s in supporting creative independence, with DIY musicians and short-form video creators coming together and producing engaging entertainment,” shared Andreea Gleeson, Chief Marketing Officer, TuneCore. Brandon Holman, Label Partnerships Manager, TikTok, added, “TikTok is proud to support independent artists and we’re excited to hear and see the creativity stemming from TuneCore artists participating in this promotion.”
Songs submitted during the Freemium promotion will be available to TikTok users for one year, with an option to continue. Regular pricing for song uploads to TuneCore are $9.99 and $29.99 per album for the first year.
