KATIE PORTER'S BOARD TAKEOVER

We don't often get into straight-up campaigning around here, but we wanted to say a word about Congressional Rep. Katie Porter (D-Calif.), who's up for re-election in November.

When Katie won her seat in Orange County's 45th district, she was the first Democrat ever to do so. And we could go on and on about the way she's held the feet of smug financial execs and clueless Trump appointees to the fire. But right now we want to talk about what she's done in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As you'll see in the video below, she's been fighting for all of us in the midst of this crisis, using a whiteboard to clarify the crushing medical costs associated with testing for the virus and forcing the CDC's Dr. Robert Redfield to commit to free testing for all.

We hear a lot about "do-nothing government," and Katie Porter is the exact opposite. She stands up for people who are struggling in America—i.e. most people—and it's time we stood up for her.
