SUMMER 2021: CONCERT CALENDAR FILLING FAST

With the Green Day/Weezer/Fall Out Boy stadium shows rescheduled, the 2021 summer calendar for large-scale postponed shows is coming into focus.

The North American leg of the Green Day-led Hella Mega Tour opens 7/14/21 in Seattle after an eight-show run in Europe and the U.K. in June. The three acts will hit 20 ballparks by 8/25/21, stopping at Dodger Stadium on 7/17 and The Mets’ home of Citi Field on 8/4/21.

They join the other rescheduled stadium shows for next year—Def Leppard and Motley Crue’s 31-show run between 6/19/21 in Nashville and 9/12/21 in San Diego; Lady Gaga’s four North American shows in August; and 22 of Kenny Chesneys dates between 5/1/21 and 8/28/21. No word yet on new dates for canceled/postponed stadium tours of BTS, The Rolling Stones and Dead & Co.

At the arena/amphitheater level, the summer is already filling up with rescheduled tours from The Weeknd, a double bill of James Taylor and Jackson Browne, Halsey, the 32-date Alanis Morisette/Liz Phair/Garbage triple-header, Thomas Rhett, Matchbox 20, Luke Bryan, King Crimson and Disturbed.

Harry Styles starts his run of arenas in August and goes until the end of October; Chris Stapleton’s lengthy trek is June to November. Rescheduled dates have yet to be announced for Justin Bieber, Maroon 5, Black Keys, Alicia Keys, Bob Dylan, Elton John, Bon Jovi and The Lumineers.

Once the COVID-19-related lockdowns took effect, highly anticipated tours from The Chicks and Neil Young were put on hold without being announced. A Genesis reunion tour is still scheduled for November in the U.K.; might Phil Collins & Co. head to the States in 2021?
