TRUTH TO POWER TO DEBUT AT CANNES
System of a Down and lead singer Serj Tankian are the subjects of Live Nation Productions’ latest documentary, Truth to Power. Making its debut at the Cannes virtual marketplace this week, the film is directed by award-winning director/writer/producer Garin Hovannisian.
During the 79-minute film, Hovannisian captures Grammy award-winning Tankian’s social justice activism work, including his role in the peaceful protests during the 2018 Velvet Revolution in Tankian’s native Armenia.
Executive-produced by Oscar-nominee Joe Berlinger and Live Nation Productions’ Ryan Kroft, Michael Rapino, Damian Vaca and Vaughn Schoonmaker, the film also features System of a Down’s John Dolmayan and Shavo Odadjian, their manager David “Beno” Benviste, filmmaker/journalist Carla Garapedian, Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello and producer Rick Rubin.
