SABAN INKS UMPG ADMIN DEAL

Universal Music Publishing Group has signed an exclusive, global administration agreement with the year-old Saban Music Group.

“Innovation requires collaboration, and this partnership amplifies our chances for success on a global scale," Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Haim Saban said.

SMG, led by Gustavo Lopez, uses a 360 model and aims to sign and develop artists with international appeal. The includes Static & Ben El (Israel), Mergui (Israel), Marie Monti (France), Chesca (Puerto Rico), and Reykon (Colombia).

Earlier this year, SMG signed a global distribution and marketing agreement with Universal Music Group for distribution in the U.S. by Caroline.

"We are excited to be partnering with Haim Saban and Gustavo Lopez and Saban Music to create opportunities for their artists and songwriters. I am confident that we will have outstanding success together," said Jody Gerson, Chairman and CEO of UMPG.
