FLIPOVER FRIDAY: NEW ARRIVALS AT iTUNES AND APPLE MUSIC

It’s independents’ day this flipover Friday, as the seven new arrivals in the iTunes Top 10 are all indie releases. Run the Jewels is the top newcomer at iTunes and Apple Music.

RTJ4 (Jewel Runners/BMG), the Wednesday release from the duo of Killer Mike and El-P, is #1 at iTunes and#6 at Apple Music.

The fifth album from L.A. metal band The Ghost Inside, a self-titled Epitaph release, is #2. Dion continues his foray into the blues with Blues With Friends (Keeping the Blues Alive) at #4; his friends include Van Morrison, Jeff Beck, Bruce Springsteen and Billy Gibbons.

Sarah Jarosz’s collection of songs about her hometown in Texas, World on the Ground (Rounder), starts at #5, just ahead of the second album from. metal band Currents, The Way It Ends (Sharptone), at #6.

Mt. Joy’s second album, Rearrange Us (Dualtone) comes in at #7, two slots ahead of Paul Wall& Lil’ Keke’s Slab Talk (Thirteen/Oiler Mobb/SoSouth).

Kane Brown’s Thursday release, “Worldwide Beautiful” (RCA Nashville) is #1 at iTunes songs.
