WMG BUILDS A FEST FROM THE VAULTS

Warner Music Group is creating a first-of-its-kind virtual music festival, bringing together performances from the WMG vaults for a three-day livestreaming event that starts Friday.

PlayOn Fest, which will support the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for the World Health Organization, will feature performances from stages around the world—Coachella, Rock in Rio, O2 Arena, to name a few—and include artists such as Green Day, Lil Uzi Vert and Bruno Mars.

Pulled together under Max Lousada’s guidance, PlayOn Fest will stream live noon-midnight ET 4/24-26 via Songkick’s YouTube channel. WMG has also launched a pre-sale of exclusive PlayOn Fest merch, with all proceeds going to the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for WHO. In addition, fans will be encouraged to click-to-donate throughout the three-day-event.

Among the never-released on YouTube performances are Nipsey Hussle’s Victory Lap album release show from the Hollywood Palladium; Panic! At the Disco’s show at the O2 Arena in London in 2019; and Ed Sheeran’s Austin City Limits show performance from 2017.
