LIVE NATION PARKS A VENUE IN AUSTIN

Live Nation, in conjunction with C3 Presents, will book Austin’s new 5,000-capacity outdoor venue, Waterloo Greenway’s Moody Amphitheater, beginning in spring 2021.

The Moody Amphitheater is being designed and built directly into the landscape of Waterloo Park, the largest park within the Waterloo Greenway system that includes 11 acres of greenspace and 1.5 miles of hike and bike trails.

Unlike most outdoor performance spaces, the general public will be able to access the stage when it is not being used for concerts and other live entertainment. The amphitheater will open this fall and offer community programming and free and low-cost offerings.

Since 1978, Waterloo Park has been home to experiences such as Spamarama, Pachanga, Fun Fun Fun Fest and Mess with Texas.

“Waterloo Greenway’s Moody Amphitheater is the venue Austin has been missing for many years. It’s the perfect size for some of today’s hottest touring acts, and with the beautiful urban downtown setting, it will be one of the most special places to see live music in the country,” C3 Presents Partner Charles Attal said.

A portion of revenues from the amphitheater will support overall park operations.

Live Nation and C3 are also involved in the building of a new arena at the University of Texas.
