MUSIC AT THE MOVIES

Kanye West and Bruce Springsteen had films playing in theaters this weekend. How much did they gross, you ask?

West’s half-hour Jesus Is King raised $1.04m from 440 Imax screens worldwide this weekend. Of that total, $862,000 came from 372 sites in the U.S. The film featuring West’s Sunday Service played in 24 cities worldwide, among them including New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Chicago.

Warner Bros.' film of Springsteen performing at his barn in New Jersey, Western Stars, opened to $560,000 in 532 theaters. Combined with Fathom Events’ preview screenings, Western Stars has made a million bucks.
