JOAN TAKES A SNAP

Back when you were dancin’ by the record machine, did you ever think that Joan Jett was a natural for the NFL? First they use her “I Hate Myself for Loving You” as NBC’s Sunday Night Football theme and now she’s singing a new rendition of “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night” with Carrie Underwood.

A sneak preview of the SNF show open will air at halftime of Sunday night’s preseason game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Tennessee Titans.

Underwood, who is singing in the SNF show open for the seventh consecutive year, suggested bringing in the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer. The new open was filmed at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

“What better way to pay homage to the original SNF opening song than by getting to play with her on primetime’s biggest stage?,” Underwood said, noting she’s a longtime fan of Jett’s.

Maybe someday they’ll duet on “Cherry Bomb.”
