MAREN STATIONED AT JODY'S PUB

Nashville breakout and trophy magnet Maren Morris, whose “GIRL” recently became the first single by a female solo act to hit #1 at Country radio in 18 months, has inked an admin deal with Jody Gerson’s UMPG.

The singer/songwriter’s 2016 Columbia Nashville debut set, HERO, is platinum, while several singles have soared: “My Church” is double platinum, “80s Mercedes” and “I Could Use a Love Song” are platinum and the playful “Rich” is gold. Then came #1 Pop monster and Grammy-nominated Interscope smash “The Middle,” which she co-created with Zedd and Grey. Morris’ sophomore set, GIRL, had the biggest country streaming debut yet by a female artist. In between those milestones have been, you know, lots of CMAs and ACMs and other glittering initials.

"Maren is an extremely talented songwriter, artist and producer whose songs have the world singing along to every hit,” proclaimed UMPG Chairman Gerson. "Even more exceptional, she has successfully crossed genres, moving seamlessly between beloved country music superstar and topping pop charts. Maren has a bright and exciting future ahead, and we are thrilled to welcome her to UMPG’s creative global home."

“I have loved working with the staff at UMPG for a while just through the past years of writing with their songwriters,” Morris offered, “so to officially be in the UMPG family feels like coming home in a way. I am so looking forward to our partnership together and can’t wait for the songs to come.”

The Texas artist/tunesmith, who’s also earned plaudits for starry group project The Highwomen, is currently on her headlining GIRL: THE WORLD TOUR.
