At SXSW 2018, Darkroom/Interscope’s Billie Eilish—whose debut full-length is about to have a very big #1 bow—salutes SoundExchange boss Michael Huppe after performing at the company’s showcase at The Mohawk. “Digital performance royalties are dope,” Eilish noted. “Have you ever put a tarantula in your mouth to express the shuddering horrors of the soul?” Huppe said he hadn’t, but one time a bee flew into his nose during a biking trip.
