ANOTHER GRANDE CHART STORY

thank u, next spends its second week at #1 on the HITS Top 50 Chart, as Republic star Ariana Grande rakes in another 155k with the record-shattering, acclaimed set. That brings her RTD past the 850k benchmark.

Ariana included, this week’s entire Top 5 belongs to Universal. Following Bohemian Rhapsody’s recent DVD release (2/12)—and ahead of the movie’s big night at the Oscars, where it's up for five awards—the Queen-filled soundtrack (Hollywood) rises #5-2, tacking on nearly 60k. In anticipation of Queen + Adam Lambert’s much-talked-about Oscar kickoff performance, Queen’s Platinum Collection re-enters at #12 with 29k.

Back to the Top 5, though. BMLGR’s Florida Georgia Line scores the week’s biggest bow, debuting at #3 with 50k. Meanwhile, Drake’s Valentine’s Day surprise—the 10th anniversary release of breakthrough mixtape So Far Gone—enters at #4 with 47k. With just south of 47k, A Star Is Born (Interscope) lands at #5, as Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper prepare for their Oscar moment.

The Top 15’s remaining new release, Avril Lavigne’s Head Above Water (BMG) appears at #13 with 29k. We don’t know what that “head above water” sensation feels like, but we assume it must be nice.

When it comes to marketshare, UMG is #1 with 56%, WMG follows with 27% and SME is #3 with 12%, while the indies claim 5%.

Streeting this week are projects by QC/Motown/Capitol’s Offset, Warner Bros.’ Lil Pump, InsideOut’s Dream Theater and Big Machine/John Varvatos’ Badflower.
