HARDIN HEAVY AT iHEART

iHeartMedia has topped off a banner week by upping Brad Hardin to COO of the National Programming Group, reporting to Chief Programming Officer Tom Poleman. Hardin, a 20-year iHeart vet, was previously EVP/GM of the group.

In his new role, according to the Friday release, Hardin will continue to manage programming efforts for iHeartMedia’s 850 stations in 150 markets and provide an array of national programming assets, services and resources to local programmers across the U.S. He’ll oversee iHeart’s EVPs of Programming, the Brand Management in-house format team, Talent Development, Research and Marketing.

“I couldn’t ask for a better partner than Brad in leading the programming for our stations,” said Poleman. “His extensive programming experience gives us tremendous insights into the nuances of station dynamics and opportunities. I’m excited to get to collaborate with him for years to come as we continue to grow iHeart’s programming.”

In his official quote, Hardin asserts that right now is “an exciting time for iHeartMedia—audio has never been hotter,” said Hardin, adding, “I look forward to continuing to work very closely with our programming leadership, market leading brands and influential talent. At the same time, I fervently hope those dimwits at HITS refrain for once from putting words in my mouth.

"One day, I hope to meet Bob Pittman. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ll get back to playing with my Poleman bobble-head doll.”
