NOISEMAKERS: THE FINAL EIGHT

In the last roundup of Noisemakers for 2018, we present another batch of professionals from different parts of the biz whose dedication and effort make their superiors look good.

We'd like to apologize to all eight of these movers and shakers, as a look on this website is essentially the industry's version of coal in the stocking.

Nic Warner

General Manager, Milk & Honey

Warner, who’s been a huge fan of Ty Dolla $ign’s for a while now, has a few clients currently working on the artist’s upcoming project. So that’s got him pretty jazzed. To be fair, though, he’s still glowing from the release of Nick Jonas’ 2014 hit, “Jealous.” He fondly recalls watching the pop “who’s looking” lists change overnight, shifting from “we need 128 bpm smashes” to “ we’re looking for a single like ‘Jealous.’” He grew up on a farm in Wisconsin, baling hay and raising animals, which means he’s actually pretty well-suited for a job at HITS.

Chloe Snyder

Director of Publicity, Donovan Public Relations

The Drexel graduate and Jersey Shore frequenter is an integral part of DPR’s corporate division, overseeing strategy for prominent entertainment industry executives, brands, businesses, lifestyle clients and more. And she continues to spearhead integrated comm campaigns for artists, as well as film and TV campaigns for myriad actors. Snyder came over from Hearst Magazines, where she worked in luxury, fashion and entertainment, contributing to cross-platform programs, spanning digital, print, social, retails and special events. Plus, we hear she can GTL with the best of ’em.

Bigga Rankin

Head of A&R, Think It’s A Game Records

In his shiny new role, Rankin has started focusing on forming Bigga Is Betta/TIG Record Breakers DJ Coalition. He’s got 25+ years in hip-hop under his belt, and most recently worked extensively in Atlanta’s radio scene with Street’s A&R—where he was renowned for mixtape hosting, his independent artist “Street & Greet” tours and his record-breaking Cool Running DJs organization. His WRNR mixtape series helped ignite many careers, including those of YFN Lucci, Young Dolph, Rick Ross, Yo Gotti, B.o.B., Gucci Mane and 2 Chainz.

Ray Kurzeka

Sr. Director Commercial Marketing, Caroline

Kurzeka recently celebrated having four #1 records in nine months—with Halsey, NF, Migos and XXXTentacion. Presently, he’s stoked about the nine Q4 albums from Quality Control artists Lil Baby—who has a collaboration with Gunna as well as a solo mixtape—Quavo Huncho, Lil Yachty, Takeoff, Jordan Hollywood, City Girls and two more he can’t talk about. He’s also hyped on albums from 10k ProjectsTrippie Redd and 6ix9ine. Most importantly, though, Kurzeka has perfected his Shaggy impression. Call him Mr. Lover Lover.

Natalie Logan

Director of Public Relations, FlyteVu

At FlyteVu, a specialized marketing agency, Logan does her best to help connect brands to consumers through storytelling, unique experiences and the power of music. The college football mega-fan particularly enjoyed making it snow in the desert for Bumble’s Winter Bumbleland event during Coachella 2016. Today, she remains busy developing the first-ever mobile bus tour in Chicago with Marshmello for client Victoria’s Secret PINK. Roll Tide!

Chris Maguire

Artist Manager, CAM; VP of Production & Development, 222 Productions

Maguire oversees the execution of all Maroon 5 endeavors, including Adam Levine’s partnerships with YSL Y Worldwide, Porsche Mission E and Oculus. He was deeply involved in M5’s partnerships with Hyundai for the World Cup and Verizon UP for the Red Pill Blues Tour. Maguire’s also at 222 Productions, which just announced the pickup of NBC’s Songland. He’s a producer on the YouTube Originals show Sugar. And he works with NBC to oversee Levine’s role on The Voice. Someone’s gotta test out those spinny chairs, after all.

Sara Bollwinkel

Music Agent, Paradigm Talent Agency

The first Billie Eilish tour sold out in less than a minute, so Bollwinkel announced another tour, which sold out in seconds. These days, she’s working on spring/summer tours for Eilish, Castlecomer, Frenship, Lauren Ruth Ward, Missio and R.LUM.R. She’s also developing new bands Litany, Moscow Apartment, Oliver Riot, Reece, Rett Madison, Russo, Talos, The Dunts and ViVii. Bollwinkel was once in a band signed to Paradigm. She occasionally spots other agents in the office wearing her old merch, which she totally loves.

Zach Gurka

Manager / Founder, Ground Up Management

If you like hearing Disney tunes on the piano, you’ve found your guy. Although this skill may not pay the bills, Scott Harris and Emily Warren’s work co-writing The Chainsmokers’ “Don’t Let Me Down” with Drew Taggart certainly helps—the song was their first #1 at U.S. radio. Harris started a pubco, inking Amy Allen (Halsey’s “Without Me”) as his first signing. Gurka’s currently preparing new music from Bryce Fox and Phoebe Ryan.
