CMAS SHAKE UP iTUNES CHARTS

Could Kacey Musgraves' big CMA win and subsequent sales explosion be a hint about what might await her when the Grammy noms roll in?

Just weeks after October's AMAs seemingly failed to move the needle at all, iTunes sees the impact of Wednesday night’s CMA Awards. The Album of the Year winner, Musgraves’ Golden Hour (MCA Nashville), goes Top 5, and more than half the Top 30 songs are from country artists. Yesterday, Golden Hour was outside of the top 200 on iTunes.

New Artist of the Year Luke Combs leads the country invasion with “She Got the Best of Me” (River House/Columbia Nashville) at #4 and, on the album side, This One’s for You Too jumped to #11 from #42.

Male Vocalist of the Year Chris Stapleton sees his Single and Song of the Year winner, “Broken Halos,” reach #7 while the two volumes of his From A Room (Mercury Nashville) are #15 and #17, followed by his debut, Traveller. Stapleton's albums all sat below #70 before the CMAs.

Albums from RCA’s Pistol Annies, EMI Nashville’s Eric Church and Entertainer of the Year Keith Urban are in the Top 20. The Top 15 at songs includes Dan + Shay’s “Tequila,” Kelsea Ballerini’s “Miss Me More,” Brett Young’s Mercy,” Urban’s “Never Comin Down,” Musgraves’ “Slow Burn” and Bebe Rexha & Florida Georgia Line’s “Meant To Be.”
