U.K. CHARTS: A FIRST FOR BOCELLI

Andrea Bocelli has scored his debut #1 on the U.K.’s Official Albums Chart with Si (Decca), which is the first classical vocal album to hit the top in more than 21 years. Over on singles, Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper rule for a second week.

Si, which features collaborations with Ed Sheeran, Dua Lipa, and Bocelli's son Matteo, is the first vocal classical album to hit #1 in the U.K. since The Three Tenors’ In Concert in 1996. It’s the first time a classical label has had a #1 since Sony Classical topped the chart in early 1998 with James Horner's Titanic score album.

Tom Odell has this week’s second highest new entry with Jubilee Road (Columbia) at #5. The A Star is Born soundtrack (Polydor) has slipped to #2, Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody soundtrack (Virgin) is up two to #5 and The Greatest Showman soundtrack (Atlantic) is down to #4.

Queen’s The Platinum Collection (UMG) rises 27 places to #7, as their 1981 Greatest Hits ups 55 places to #23.

Culture Club and Boy George score their eighth Top 40 album together with Life (BMG) in at #12 and Thom Yorke's soundtrack for supernatural horror movie, Suspiria (XL), enters at #13.

On the Official Singles Chart, Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper hold on to #1 with “Shallow” (Polydor). That’s followed by Little Mix f/Nicki Minaj with “A Woman Like Me” (Syco) which rises four places to #2.

Elsewhere, rising star Freya Ridings is up four places to #9 with “Lost Without You” (Good Soldier). XXXTentacion and Lil Pump's collaboration with Maluma and Swae Lee claims this week's highest new entry with “Arms Around You” (Warner Bros.) debuting at #14.
