U.K. MIDWEEKS: SIR PAUL IS AT #2

It’s Eminem versus a legend on this week’s Official Albums Chart as Sir Paul McCartney starts at #2 with Egypt Station (Virgin EMI). Over on the Official Singles list, this week’s highest new entry could be “I Love It” (Def Jam) by Kanye West & Lil Pump, currently at #7.

Eminem is still holding onto #1 with Kamikaze (Polydor) after topping the chart on Friday, while Sir Paul sits one place behind with his 25th post-Beatles studio album.

Further down, four new releases are on track for Top 10 debuts. Spiritualized are at #6 with And Nothing Hurt (Bella Union), Paul Simon sits at #7 with In The Blue Light (Sony CMG), T.Rex box set Gold (Demon) starts at #8 and Clutch are at #10 with Book of Bad Decisions (Weathermaker).

Mac Miller fans are honouring the late artist as his latest album Swimming (Parlophone) rises to #23 after initially peaking at #37. On the Official Singles Chart, there are two Miller tracks in the Top 100: “Self Care” at #56 and “Hurt Feelings” at #89.

Elsewhere on singles, Calvin Harris & Sam Smith are set for a second week at #1 with “Promises” (Columbia). Three songs are picking up steam within the Top 5: Loud Luxury rise to #3 from #5 with “Body” (AATW); Tyga is up four places to #4 with “Taste” f/Offset (Empire); and Eminem is up to #5 from #9 with “Fall.”

Behind West, Mark Ronson & Diplo’s Silk City supergroup are the second highest new entry at #15 with “Electricity” f/Dua Lipa (Columbia).
