U.K. CHARTS: A WIN FOR GLYNNE

Jess Glynne has claimed her seventh #1 on the U.K. Official Singles Chart with “I’ll Be There”—one of three Top 3 entries from Warner label Atlantic, which also has the Official Albums #1 with The Greatest Showman. Elsewhere on albums, Jorja Smith is the highest new entry with her debut, Lost & Found (FAMM).

Glynne is followed by Clean Bandit f/Demi Lovato with "Solo," which takes second place just 898 combined sales behind, and “2002” by Anne-Marie finishes the week at #3.

Here’s a look how singles now chart in Blighty: The five #1s Glynne had from 2014 to 2016, both as a solo and featured artist, charted at #1 in their first or second week of release. Her sixth, “These Days,” took 10 weeks to climb to the top earlier this year, and “I’ll Be There” has done so during its sixth week of release.

George Ezra is up four places to #4 with “Shotgun” (Columbia), followed by Ariana Grande’s “No Tears Left to Cry” (Island) at #5.

Further down, two songs enter the Top 10 for the first time: “Leave a Light On” (Relentless) by Tom Walker and “I Like It” by Cardi B f/Bad Bunny & J Balvin (Atlantic). This week’s highest new entry is Jorja Smith with “Blue Lights” at #38.

Over on the Official Albums Chart, The Greatest Showman (Atlantic) is the longest running #1 soundtrack since the Sound of Music some 50 years ago, as it spends a 19th week at the top.

Behind Smith, The Beach Boys with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (UMC/Virgin) is the second highest new entry at #4.

Kanye West and Kid Cudi are third with their self-titled debut album, Kids See Ghosts (Virgin EMI), finishing the week at #7. Lily Allen charts at #8 with her fourth U.K. Top 10, No Shame (Parlophone).
