FLEETWOOD MAC TO TOUR SANS BUCKINGHAM

While the world debates whether Lindsey Buckingham quit or was fired from Fleetwood Mac, this much is true: This fall, the band will tour with Mike Campbell of The Heartbreakers and Neil Finn of Crowded House as its guitarists.

“Snow warnings for parts of the country, the mystery of Stonehenge solved and yes I’ve joined Fleetwood Mac,” Finn tweeted on Monday. He also issued a statement: “Two weeks ago I received a wonderful invitation to be a part of a truly great band. A few days later I was standing in a room playing music with Fleetwood Mac. It felt fresh and exciting, so many great songs, a spectacular rhythm section and two of the greatest voices ever. Best of all, we sounded good together. It was a natural fit. I can’t wait to play.”

The group stated that it would be performing Fleetwood Mac hits and surprises from the catalog, which goes back to 1967 and includes pre-Buckingham-Nicks classics such as “Albatross,” “Oh Well,” “Black Magic Woman,” “Hypnotized” and “Sentimental Lady.”

No word on whether they’ll dip into Finn’s Crowded House songbook for the apropos “Don’t Dream Its Over.”
