STREAMERIES AMPLIFY SUPPORT
FOR WOMEN

In honor of Women's History Month and of course celebrating International Women's Day today, Pandora, Spotify and Google are showing support for women everywhere, each in specialized programming that celebrates the contributions of women.

Pandora has created seven new playlists on their Premium tier and six free-tier stations spotlighting the women of both music and comedy. Genres range from punk on Riot Grrrl to Women in Hip Hop or Rising Women in Country, and include several playlists featuring the comedic talents of women like Tiffany Haddish, Tina Fey, Amy Shumer and more.

Pandora also released a list of who their most-streamed female artists are, which unsurprisingly consists of acts like Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry, Carrie Underwood, Adele, Beyoncé, Taylor Swift and more with Rihanna taking the top spot.

Meanwhile, Spotify has launched a collection of playlists spotlighting women under a new feature, Amplify, a hub focusing on causes and community voices. Appropriately, this month the playlists are female-oriented, highlighting the women of various genres with special attention on the Latin movement.

This month, in addition to the inaugural playlist Women of the World, which you can listen to below, there's also a feature starring Universal Music Publishing Group's Demi Lovato talking about the new Spanish rendition of her song, "Tell Me You Love Me." The songstress is also the cover of Spotify's flagship Latin playlist ¡Viva Latino!, where you can watch her behind-the-scenes in a recording session.

Amplify is intended to be an ongoing feature of the streaming service with emphasis on causes including Gender Equality, Mental Health & Self Care, LGBTQ rights and Immigration to come.

And finally, Google took a strong stance in support of women in a powerful ad the search engine launched today. Coincidentally, the track over the commercial is "Confident," for which we once again credit UMPG's songstress, miss Lovato. The ad explores a search for global gender equality. You can watch below.
