RCA GETS CHILDISH
After a fierce contest with multiple big bidders, artist Childish Gambino has landed at Peter Edge’s RCA Records. Childish scored one of 2017’s most unusual hits with the #1 Rhythm radio single “Redbone” (350m streams, 723k singles sold) off his Glassnote set “Awaken, My Love!” (which bowed Top 5) and is nominated for Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Best R&B Song, Best Urban Contemporary Album and Best Traditional R&B Performance Grammys.
The deal brings the Gambino-affiliated imprint Wolf + Rothstein to Nipperland as well, with new music expected later in 2018.
Edge called the artist “undoubtedly one of the most talented, multi-faceted, young entertainers of this era,” adding, “We are excited to join forces with him and Wolf + Rothstein to usher in the next phase of Childish Gambino’s musical career. Also, I look forward to my cameo on Atlanta as a guy who buys a dime bag from Paper Boi.”

The multi-talented artist born Donald Glover has earned multiple Emmys and a Golden Globe, among other trophies, as the creator/writer/star of the adventurous TV series Atlanta and was voted one of TIME’s Most Influential People of 2017.
