SONY U.K. ENDS 2017 ON AN ILEY IMPRESSIVE NOTE

Jason Iley’s Sony U.K. is finishing 2017 on a high note, as his transformation of the company bears significant fruit in the marketplace.

Sony has six albums in the U.K. Top 10 now (from RCA’s P!nk and Paloma Faith, Columbia’s Rag’n’Bone Man, SYCO’s Little Mix and CMG’s Roy Orbison and Elvis Presley) and more than half the singles on the tracks chart (Columbia's Mariah Carey, RCA's Wham!, SYCO's Camila Cabello and Rak-Su f/Wyclef & Naughty Boy and Ministry of Sound's Marshmello f/Khalid, not to mention a 50% share of the Ed Sheeran/Beyoncé duet).

Iley, who in late 2016 anointed Ferdy Unger-Hamilton as Columbia U.K. boss and Ministry of Sound man David Dollimore as RCA chief, among other key moves, spoke to us recently about his team, his roster and more; you’ll find that conversation here.
