SHEERAN'S STADIUM BOUND IN 2018
Ed Sheeran will perform in 15 football and baseball stadiums across North America next summer and fall, his first tour of 50,000+ seaters. No word yet on whether he will take a knee.
The tour starts 8/18 at the Rose Bowl and visits the home of the New York Jets and Giants, MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. on 9/22 and wraps 11/10 at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Registration for Ticketmaster’s #VerifiedFan system is open through 10/12. Fan presales begin 10/16; general public on-sales start 10/20. The tour announcement coincided with Sheeran performing his new single “Perfect” (Atlantic) on ABC’s Good Morning America.
His next TV appearance will be 10/2 on the premiere of MTV’s TRL. Last week, his "Shape of You," became the most-streamed song ever on Spotify with 1.318 billion streams.
“Perfect’s” lyric video received more than 3m views on YouTube in its first 24 hours and is now up to over 6.4 m views. Sheeran is looking at setting so many records with ÷, its singles and tours that manager Stuart Camp has put the Guinness Book on speed dial.
