FLIPOVER FRIDAY: NEW ARRIVALS AT iTUNES AND APPLE MUSIC

Island’s The Killers roll a seven with their first album in five years, Wonderful Wonderful, as the deluxe edition opens on #1 on this flipover Friday. It’s quite the Friday to flip over: 24 of the Top 25 titles are new releases.

Trailing The Killers—the standard edition is #11 by the way—is the first solo album in 12 years from Seattle rapper Macklemore, GEMINI (Bendo). It’s #2 at iTunes, #29 at Apple Music.

At #3 is the second album from Baton Rouge, La.’s Kevin Gates, By Any Means 2 (Bread Winners Association/Atlantic). It’s also the top rookie on Apple Music albums chart, starting at #5.

The eighth album from Christian hip-hop artist Lecrae, All Things Work Together (Reach/Columbia), is #4. Two other Christian acts are in the Top 10: Matthew West’s All In (Sparrow) is #9 and Kristene DiMarco’s Where His Light Was (Bethel) sits at #10.

After releasing four mixtapes, Chicago rapper G Herbo finally hits with his debut for Machine Entertainment/RED. Humble Beast is #5 at iTunes, #8 at Apple Music.

After clicking with “Drinkin’ Problem,” Midland pours in at #6 with their debut full-length On the Rocks (BMLG). Fergie’s first solo album in 11 years, Double Dutchess (Retrofuture/BMG) is #7 and Mastodon’s Cold Dark Place EP (Reprise) opens at #8.

Warner Bros.’ Gossip and Light, Columbia’s Home Free, Warner Nashville’s Chris Janson, Verve’s Ledisi and Van Morrison’s Roll with the Punches (Caroline), which is not yet available in full on streaming services, are among the albums in slots 11-25. ArtClub/Def Jam’s Jhene Aiko is #19 at iTunes and #26 at Apple Music.

For the record, Lawrence Welk’s “Wonderful Wonderful” has yet to see a sales spike.
