VMAs: KUMBAYAH?

The world premiere of Taylor Swift's video for sizzling new single "Look What You Made Me Do" is one key reason the 8/27 MTV VMAs may enjoy its best ratings in several years.

Another reason: With Katy Perry hosting, viewers (and partisans) will be tuning in to see if the long-simmering Swift-Perry beef will end with a public rapprochement ... or more fireworks.

At this point, though, it's still unknown whether Swift will appear on the show beyond whatever's involved in launching the video.

The show also boasts a starry roster of performers, including Video Vanguard recipient P!nk, Sir Rod Stewart featuring DNCE (offering a retooled version of his "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy"), Ed Sheeran, Miley Cyrus, Kendrick Lamar, Demi Lovato, Fifth Harmony featuring Gucci Mane, Shawn Mendes, Lorde, Logic featuring Khalid, Post Malone, Julia Michaels and more.

You'll find a complete list of nominees here.

But expect much chatter on the socials and elsewhere about the Tay-Katy convergence.
